ABOUT WHAT WE DO

Shoulder surgery

SHOULDER    The shoulder is the largest joint in the upper extremity and the most complicated. Shoulder pain is a common problem that can disable effective use of the whole arm. Fortunately, Dr. Baker is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the shoulder, from rotator cuff tears, to bursitis, tendinitis, stiffness, instability and arthritis. Our doctors are skilled in the operative as well as non-operative treatment of shoulder problems and will thoughtfully apply state of the art techniques to help you get your shoulder working right again.

Knee surgery

KNEE     The knee is the largest joint in the body, and one of the most easily injured. Everyone from 2 to 102 is susceptible to knee injuries and disorders and Dr. Baker is skilled in the latest treatments for your knee problem. Whether its prescribing therapy, giving injections, performing arthroscopy, knee replacement or complex cartilage repair,  Dr. Baker is ready to treat your problem.

Hand and Wrist

HAND, WRIST, FOREARM, and ELBOW   The hand is very complex and delicate in structure. Below the elbow a multitude of problems can occur, including nerves problems (like carpal tunnel syndrome), tendon entrapment and irritation, ligament tears, fractures, and arthritis, just to name a few. The diagnosis can be obvious, but the treatment options can be complex. Sometimes the diagnosis is subtle, and an expert investigation is required to discover the nature of the problem. Treatment of hand and wrist disorders often requires careful analysis of the problem and a well thought out treatment plan. You can feel confident that you will get this care from our doctor.

Fractures

FRACTURES (broken bones)      The skeleton is made to bear the load of all our activities. So when the bone is injured, it’s no surprise that activity often stops in the injured area. Proper healing of bones, especially around joints, with little tolerance for malpositioned surfaces, is crucial for return to normal. Our doctor  trained in one of the busiest trauma centers in Texas, and is well experienced in expert fracture care. He also realizes that recovery doesn’t just end with healing of the bone and will continue to guide you through the rehabilitation phase to help you truly recover from your injury.

Foot and ankle

FOOT and ANKLE    Foot and ankle pain is a common disorder. Almost 80% of the population will experience foot pain in their lives. Whether its and ankle sprain or a major fracture, Dr. Baker is skilled in the treating these common problems.

 Workers Compensation

Worker's Compensation    Dr. Baker is a very experienced worker's comp doctor. Not only is he a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, he has been a DWC-certified Designated Doctor (one of a small number of MD's) since 2006.

Children

PEDIATRIC (children's) Orthopedics    Our doctor has extensive experience in the treatment of common pediatric disorders for children and adolescents. For these problems, you can get excellent and cost-effective treatment near your home without having to spend an hour or more on the road to get to your doctor. For more complicated disorders, referral to a pediatric orthopedist may be necessary. In these less common cases, our office and physicians will do everything we can to expedite your child’s appointment and avoid unnecessary delays in care

AT LONE STAR

ORTHOPEDICS

WE WORK HARD

TO GIVE YOU

THE BEST CARE

We follow the Golden Rule in our surgical practice as we do in our lives and treat you as we would wish to be treated if we were in your shoes.

We come to work each day understanding that we are taking care of people who are not in the health that they want to be when they first see us. An injury or an illness takes us out of that "zone of comfort" that we usually live in. Our job is to help you recover as well as you can and get back to enjoying your life.
