Lone Star Orthopedics
PERSONALIZED CARE
We follow the Golden Rule in our medical practice as we do in our lives and treat you as we would wish to be treated if we were in your shoes.
At Lone Star Orthopedics, we are looking for the long-term relationship. Our patients are our friends, and Dr. Baker always gives you the best advice without regard to business. We treat you like a person, not a profit-center.
We know that if one of us were injured or ill that we would not want to wait for days to see the doctor. At Lone Star Orthopedics, we strive to give you rapid appointments and not make you wait. This means that you can usually get in to see the doctor in 1-2 days for urgent conditions.
In our practice, when you come in for orthopedic care you will be seeing Dr. Baker. After your surgery you will still be seeing Dr. Baker. We don't send you off to see the "assistant" for the remainder of your care. No, you will have your treatment guided from start to finish, every visit, with Dr. Baker who will make all medical treatment decisions regarding your care... care that is personalized for you.
At Lone Star Orthopedics, it's all about you.
Quality * Caring * Service
These are the guiding principles of our orthopedic surgical practice. We will provide you with Quality surgical care. We will not treat you like a part, but will Care for you as we would wish to be cared for if we were your patient. And we tie it all together with Service that is prompt, accurate, and shows you that we appreciate your time and your business.

Billing and payment
Payment in Full
Payment is due at the time of service. Unfortunately, as a small practice we are not able to set up payment plans.
Pay over the phone
We often do not know your cost share until your insurance company processes your claim. If you receive a bill, you are welcome to pay with credit card over the phone, if you wish.
Pay by credit card
We accept most major credit cards. We do not store any credit card numbers or information, so your financial information will never be compromised by us.
Workers Comp
We gladly accept workers compensation patients, but we do have to have authorization to see you before we can begin your care. Occasionally an employer has an insurance that is not contracted with Dr. Baker. In that case, you may want to petition your employer to ask the plan to add Dr. Baker to their panel of doctors.
OTHER ISSUES

Emergency Department Follow up
Sometimes you may have an insurance plan that Dr. Baker is not contracted with (i.e., we are not "on the plan". In the case, if you were seen in the ER when Dr. Baker was on call, he will see you for a one-time visit, but you will need to arrange care with a doctor who is in your plan afterwards unless you wish to pay out-of-network fees.
Non-smoking
The Professional Building in San Marcos and the Medical Office Building in New Braunfels are both smoke-free facilities, so you will not be able to smoke in our offices. To increase the cleanliness of our office for our patients and to decrease growth of bacteria, we ask that you refrain from eating and drinking in our office.
